More than 5,000 animals from more than 460 species call this 710-acre zoological park home nestled in the Rouge Valley. Six geographic locations divide the zoo, recreating the natural environments of their inhabitants with ponds and waterfalls. Visit gorillas, hippopotamuses and crocodiles in the African Rainforest. Elephants, lions, zebras and giraffes call the African Savanna home. Prairie dogs, great horned owls and octopuses are in the Americas. The Arctic wolves, grizzly bears, moose, wood bison and cougars are in the Canadian Domain. Camels, apes, snow leopards and red pandas are at home in Eurasia. Plus 10 km of walking trails. Open daily 9:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m., last admission 6:30 p.m. General admission $20, seniors $14, children 12 and under $12, free admission for children age 3 and under. Free parking until March 1st.
